Kyle Thomas, M.Ac., L.Ac. is a master acupuncturist and Duggan Method practitioner specializing in the treatment of chronic pain.

Kyle began his acupuncture training at Tai Sophia Institute (now MUIH) in Laurel, Maryland. He later transferred to the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, FL, where he completed extensive clinical training and graduated with a Masters in Acupuncture in 2013. After graduation he completed a postgraduate apprenticeship with renowned healer Robert “Bob” M. Duggan, focusing on mental health and wellbeing. Kyle is board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Alaska.

Born in Juneau, Kyle’s parents both taught in the Juneau School District for over 25 years. Kyle moved to Washington State, where he completed high school and attended the University of Washington, getting a dual Bachelor’s degree  in History and Philosophy.

After a car accident, Kyle was left with persistent back pain that interfered with his studies and daily life. Doctor and chiropractor visits offered very little relief and depression and anxiety were daily realities. Feeling desperate for relief, Kyle took a chance on a Tai Chi program and within 1 month his back pain was gone! Intrigued, Kyle began studying the healing arts with a passion. He attended Tai Sophia (now MUIH), where he met his future wife, Serenity, his business partner, and mother of his two daughters.

Through acupuncture Kyle found profound, transformational relief from mild daily panic attacks and depression that he never thought would go away. He now dedicates his life to helping patients find this transformation for themselves.

For Kyle, the “secret” or key to all healing comes from our body’s wisdom. Uncovering this wisdom through daily wellness practices accelerates our healing and growth, helping us be stronger and wiser for the generations that follow us.

Outside the treatment room Kyle loves to cook along with Gordon Ramsay recipes, enjoys spending time at the Glacier with his two girls and young puppy Zoe, and spending every sunny evening he can at Auke Rec. Everyday Kyle practices the Tai Chi that awakened his healing journey and started the road to becoming a skilled practitioner.
